Walk With Me is an invitation from Feilding artist, Tima Simms. She would like you to join her on a creative journey from grief and loss to recovery and joy.
A survey of over 30 works, each painting on display tells a story about the struggles of mental illness, and how Tima has overcome those challenges.
Tima Simms is a retired counsellor who found art after her only son died while serving in the New Zealand Army. Eight years later, in her late 50’s, Tima had a profound dream that would change her life. The same dream visited her every night for almost a year - it compelled her to paint.
In 2018, friends from the Feilding Art Centre encouraged Tima to have her first exhibition, giving her only three months to produce enough paintings for the exhibition. It was a challenge, but she did it. Tima has continued her art, selling into collections around the country. "Walk With Me' is a continuation of her personal creative journey, and she looks forward to having you walk alongside her.
