This exhibition is an opportunity to show some of my fibre art pieces as a collective, that have exhibited individually, around New Zealand and the World but never as a solo artist display.
I started quilting 30 years ago with the purpose to provide warmth and colour in every room of our first home.
I rapidly realised, reproducing traditional quilt designs, was not for me.
A creative spark was ignited and artistic, wall quilts started to appear, requiring layers of detail, texture and surface embellishment in thread, paint and beading, to create a story.
Nature around us and New Zealand life are regular themes in my pieces.
I enjoy the challenge of a theme or exhibition requirement and my fibre art pieces started being selected to travel New Zealand or around the world.
Many pieces have found new homes, from private owners to The American Craft Museum in New York, as part of their 'Six Continents' collection.
