Our Region's Longest Running Art Event!

This cash and carry art show is your opportunity to see and buy original artwork, by emerging and established artists from around New Zealand... right here in the Manawatū!

  • Visit The Palmerston North Conference and Function Centre

  • from Friday July 19th until Sunday July 21st.

  • 9am - 4.30pm each day

  • $5 entry, under 14 years free - pay at the door upon entry.

  • Preview Evening will be Thursday the 18th at 5.30m - tickets limited.

Our Guest Artist is Pauline Allomes! 

Pauline's work shares the beauty of our New Zealand environment and messages of our environmental responsibilities. Her work is calming and inspiring.  You will see her intricate metalpoint drawings, graceful micrography works, and nature based acrylic paintings. 

Our Feature Artist is Salvador Dali!

We have 11 original etchings by Salvador Dali on display and available for purchase via silent auction at the Manawatū Art EXPO the year. Bidding will begin when announced at the preview evening, Thursday the 18th at 5.30pm, and will continue until 2pm Sunday the 21st of July. All etchings are being sold separately. Bidding will continue for any of the works after 2pm, until there have been no bids for 2 minutes.

Artists - get involved!

Applications are now open for artists wanting to show their work at Manawatū Art Expo.

There are a range of display categories available, depending on whether you'd like to present a mini exhibition or just submit a handful of pieces. We welcome applications from artists in a range of media (terms and conditions apply) and of all experience levels.

Visitors

At Manawatū Art Expo, you will have the opportunity to see and buy affordable, original artwork, by artists from all around New Zealand. Enjoy the artwork on display and see how it's made, with demonstrations running throughout the weekend. 

Location:

Find us at Palmerston North Conference and Function Centre, 354 Main Street (click here for a map) - right next to Te Manawa Museum, and within walking distance of Zimmerman Art Gallery and Square Edge Community Arts. Why not make a day of it, and visit all four venues for a full cultural fix?

Opening Hours:

We are open from 9am until 4.30pm, July 19 to 21.

Entry Fees:

It costs $5 per adult to enter Manawatū Art Expo, with under 14s free. The entry fee is payable at the door and applies per visit.

Purchasing Artwork:

All artworks, except our Salvador Dali collection, are cash and carry, meaning you can buy and take home your favourite piece on the day. Complimentary wrapping is available on-site to help keep your purchase safe on the way home. If couriering your work out of town, we encourage you to stop in and see Pack & Send Palmerston North, just across the road.

Cash and Eft Pos are available for all sales. Credit and contactless payments are accepted with a 1.5% surcharge.

Parking:

Plenty of parking is available in the area, with a carpark to the rear of the venue. On-street parking is pay-and-display, with spaces around George Street and the Square. We encourage you to park in town and make the most of your visit by stopping at the many cafes and shops on George Street, as well as neighbouring galleries and museum.
